Now we'll learn how to make calendar posts.
The calendar is there for you to announce when DSS-related events, parties or meetings
will be going on.

First, let's head back to the
DSS Dashboard.

In the column to the left, please click on Events Calendar.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE IMAGES ARE ALL SCREENSHOTS

And you'll be brought to this page. This is your calendar for all
your events.
Below you, you'll see the
area where you input the
event information.

Once you're done doing this, you'll have an event notice on the DSS front page!

Title: Type your headline in this box.

Location: Just type in the area it'll be held out. Do not type your address, if only for safety purposes!

Link Out: You don't need to use this

Description: This will be the boy of the event post. You can write as much as you like.

For the dates and times, you will click on the little icons next to the text input boxes.

Click on the calendar icon under Start Date and a little calendar will pop up. Click on the date you'll be holding your event. In this case, we're choosing it to be held on December 25th, 2008.

The current date will be highlighted in PINK. The date you select for your event will be highlighted in WHITE.

Once you do that, the calendar will disappear and in the box will be the date of your event!
Awesome!

Next, click on the Start Time
clock icon.

Once you do that, a little box full of times (on a 24hr clock)
will pop up.
Though you can't see it in the screen shot, to the left will be a second box showing the time you selected. Play around with this and you'll see what I mean!

Do the same thing for the End Date and End Time as you did with the Start Date and End Date.

End Date is what day your event will be ending on.
End Time is what time you want your event to end at.

In our case, our event will be starting at 6pm, Dec 25th and ending that same nightat 8pm.

Next, click on the Create Post For Event checkbox.
Set the Visibility Level to Public.
Set Post Status to Publish.

Once you're satisfied that all the information is correct, click on the Add Event button to publish your event to the DSS front page.
You'll see that December 25th 2008 is marked now on the calendar as hosting an event!
And if you head to the DSS front page, you'll see that the event has been published just like a regular post!
